I work nights. Well really I work evenings, 6-11pm. When I get home I stay up for a while to unwind. I log on, sometimes I have a bite to eat, whatever. Usually don’t hit the sack until after 1:00am sometime. I don’t mind, I have always been a night owl.
Problem is the kids don’t care. The boys have to be on their bus by 7:30. My oldest daughter’s bus comes at 8:45. The baby, well, she gets up when she wants. So although I am a night owl it don’t jive well with the SAHD gig.
So, anyway. Last night I didn’t have to work. Kids loved that I don’t have to leave. We were able to go out to eat as a family. I got to watch, that’s right watch, the Celtics.
And the best thing is, I was in bed while normally I would have still been at my desk at work. I was asleep before I would have normally gotten home (I know, I know a real rocking Friday night for sure, but oh well).
Woke up this morning feeling refreshed. Ahhhhh.
And tonight, my wife and I are going on a DATE!
Oh, and I have Monday off too!
Shaping up to be a great weekend.

That sounds like a nice break! Good for you. My wife and I spent the whole day together yesterday, without kids. This is something we haven’t done in years, literally. It turns out I still like her.
The breaks are necessary, but I’m sure you know this. Have a great weekend!
