As you may know I am a fan of Australian Rules Football. I was born and raised in Boston, but yet I still love Aussie Rules. I have been following it for a number of years now. I barrack for the Western Bulldogs (you don’t root for a team in Australia as ‘root’ is slang for something consenting adults do in their bedroom).
The Dogs have been a struggling club for years and years. They last won a championship in 1954. Recent years have seen them near the bottom of the standings. But this year, oh this year! They are in second place with a record of 13 wins, one loss and one draw.
Tonight, starting in just a few moments at 12:10am Boston time they play the Geelong Cats. Geelong are defending champions and are the only team ahead of the Doggies on the ladder.
I will be up listening to the game. If you want to get some sort of idea of what I am talking about check out this quick video showing some of the finer points of the ‘footy’.
GO DOGGIES!!

the Dogs looked good in the first half.
then they forgot to come out and play the second.
Oh well… well done Cats.
silver lining time…
The 3rd place Hawks lost. So the Dogs are still in second.
A Hawks win would have seen the Dogs slip a spot.
