My site isn’t famous, it will never be famous. But when I posted about the death of Quiet Riot’s Kevin DuBrow I saw quite the spike in my traffic. Why?
Sure it helped that I had the name misspelled! I had Kevin DeBrow. Seems that lots of people searched for news on Kevin “DeBrow” and his untimely passing. The result?
Can you guess when he passed away?
I can’t wait until the next B list metal singer or similar to kick it. I just have to come up with a nifty misspelling.

Pat, good detective work! It does appear as though you got a spike when discussing Kevin DeBrow (sic), but - check this out - traffic also appeared to motor along when you quizzed your loyal audience on monkeys v. giraffes.
However, is this secondary spike in internet interest due to your mention of monkeys, or is it on account of the giraffes?
Let’s dig even deeper - Your statistics from the past month also suggest a slight (and inconceivable) spike around the time of your most recent Fantasy Sport Talk. Is it just a coincidence that such talk mentions (magic) monkeys?
Thus, I am concluding the key to Annoyingly Boring’s internet domination is a future blog about a recently deceased, commonly misspelled 80s holdover and his or her connection to primates.

There is a bar in town who has a (betting) pool on which aging celebrity will kick the bucket next. I think it’s called the “Ghoul Pool”. I don’t understand people’s facination with untimely celebrity demises.
