Annoyingly Boring?

The other day my 9 month old was cruising the living room. The cat was laying in the corner. Regan scooted up to him and started squealing in delight and pulling the cat’s fur. (Her way of saying, “I love you kitty!”)

Fluff was in a bit of a bind and he couldn’t just walk away as he was in a corner and she had him boxed in.

Being a good guy he put up with her for some time. He skulked away after a longer period of time than most 14 year old cats would have put up with.

Later in the day Regan sees the cat walk across the room and starts jabbering at him and then hissing. “Odd”, I thought.

It dawned on me that the last thing Fluff did before getting away from the baby earlier was to tell her off by hissing at her.

So instead of meowing at the cat, she now hisses at him whenever she sees him. She sees it as perfectly normal conversation. She’s not angry.

Ask her “What does a kitty say?” and you will get the most adorable little hiss.
