Project 365 // Day 236 v2.0
Tonight it’s time for the AFL GRAND FINAL!
What, you don’t know what that is? Oh.
It’s the Australian equivalent to the Super Bowl. It’s the championship game of the Australian Football League.
And this year it’s on ESPN Classic! So if you are interested, or at least a little curious and you get ESPN Classic you can catch the Geelong Cats take on the St. Kilda Saints at 12:30am EDT (Programming starts at 11:30pm Friday night). They are 14 hours ahead, so that’s a 2:30PM start time in Melbourne.
GO CATS!
Oh and, “Coopers” is an Australian beer. It’s South Australian. Ideally I’d have myself a nice Victorian beer. The biggie is Victoria Bitter, but I can’t get VB here. Most other “Australian” beers you get around here are brewed in Canada. Honest. Check it out. Same goes with some Irish beers. They can still say “Imported” on the bottle but it’s not Australian or Irish or whatever.

Project 365 // Day 76
Between Little League practices Saturday, I snuck out to watch the Boston Demons take on the New York Magpies in an Australian Rules Football match. Aussie Rules is an exciting game and the boys put on quite a show. I didn’t get to stay for the whole match, but I am pleased to report that the Demons won handily, 87-40.
More photos from the match can be found on my Flickr photostream.

Stayed up to watch the whole of the AFL Grand Final last night/this morning. Cheers to the Freo supporter who set up streaming coverage of the match.

Australian Rules Football. An amazing game. This is Australia’s Super Bowl. Geelong takes on Hawthorn.
I am watching live streaming coverage. Ain’t the internet wonderful!
To honor the event, I fly an Aussie flag all day Friday and Saturday.
