Not sure what got me thinking about it, but remember the old PSAs that were on during all those super solid ‘after school specials’? This one may have been at the head of the class.
Now, Schoolhouse Rock was better, but that was Saturday morning fare. For the after school set, you can’t touch Timer!

Woohoo! THAT’S where that song came from. I’ve often had that “hanker for a hunk of cheese” phrase stuck in my head, but I could never place it. Whoa. Talk about hidden pieces in the confines of my mind. My husband likes to sing it too.

You’ve probably seen it, but Nickelodeon runs PSA-type commercials these days too - the most memorable one explains the innerworkings of flatulence.
If I see it twenty years on, wonder if it will feel as nostalgic as this ‘hunka cheese’ one does now.
