Back at it after a week off. A week off that did no good at all for the old waistline.
Quick recap for anyone new on board…. Was at my high of just about 250lbs last fall. At 6′5″ I was by no means morbidly obese, but it was enough to make me take notice. Started eating smarter, following the weight watchers scheme but not joining weight watchers. Increased my activity level a bit and got down to about 215. Year end holidays came and I was back at 230. Started doing short video segments regarding my efforts and here we are.
Chime in with your feedback, let me know what you’d like to see on upcoming episodes. Get involved!
There is a growing number of guys getting on board with virtual weigh ins. Check them out…
Scott @ W8 Loss Wednesday, Jim @ Busy Dad Blog, Jeremy @ Discovering Dad & Nuke Dad is doing “Fat Boy Fridays at Cre8Buzz’ Anthill. Get involved, if you are looking to make a healthy change posting about it, be it words, photos, audio or video is great motivation (and a lot of fun)

Better luck next week. I’m sure today’s weigh-in was a wake up call. Step it out and you’ll succeed.

Whatever you do, they’ll be great videos, ’cause you’re just so entertaining.
If I were to suggest something; can you film yourself doing some of your exercise routine, either by yourself, or do you do some with your kids? How about meal planning… my biggest failure is I get home tired from work and don’t even feel like preparing a meal, so we often cop out and get take out. A huge no no. Maybe some kitchen shots of your favorite diet meals or tips that help you curb your appetite?
(BTW, just by watching what I eat during the day, I have dropped 6 pounds in the past few weeks… I hope to continue on that trend!) Of course, my main motivation is an upcoming doctor’s appt… I don’t want him to yell at me!
Love your Mr. Scale!
Anyway, love the vid you did “on the road” too; it’s great to pair up your WLW with a bit of tourism

Pat, I’m just catching up on everything here. I’m so, so sorry to hear about your loss. Shocking and scary. I’m 36 too.
I hope everyone is feeling better soon, and a bump in the road to weightloss is to be expected given the circumstances. Hugs and prayers to you and your family.

Glad you’re back in production!
Idea for a future episode: Can you still dunk? I refuse to believe I’m the only one who wants to see you dunk.
That would be an awesome opening sequence: Cut to PG taking off from the paint, soaring above the rim and depositing the leather with authority, Tom Petty’s “Learning to Fly” in the background…
Also - “getting your rear end on the treadmill”, even if it IS every day for three days, isn’t likely to promote weight loss. Try walking on said treadmill, or perhaps give running on that treadmill a shot, and see how that works for you.
Best wishes!

I want to see more of the cul de sac riding.
I think you will lose weight..you had/have so much going on right now that you did not have time to focus on dieting.

The “on location” vid was great, I think you should do more traveling (especially since its starting to get nice out). I love Mr. Scale but you could give him a night off and let a reliever come in. Lets see you do a weigh in on the local butchers scale. How about a freight scale on a loading dock? How about while your shopping, lose the shoes and jump on a scale in the isle? And when Mr. Scale is feeling up to it (and the kids), throw them in the stroller and jog somewhere (the shore, downtown, go check and see if the rock is any bigger) or the bike and toss Mr. Scale in the road and hop on.
Also, how come there are a ton of bug’s eye veiw pics on 365 and none with the vids??? Let’s see what 6′-5″ looks like to a bug!

Suggestions: How about putting your camera on your bike and riding around?
I liked the idea about the kitchen shots–cooking, washing dishes, kids eating lunch in the background.
Gotta love all the kids in the shots too–though they tend to steal the show!
Really liked the car cam one; that was fun!
Oh, and seeing local tourist sites, stores, grocery stores, wherever you shop, parks, and all that jazz. Going on the road is a neat change of pace too.
What about an interview with Mr. Scale? He never gets to say anything. Poor guy.
BTW, Loved your last Project 365 shot. Bug’s eye view perspectives are awesome. I wonder if you tend toward them because you’re tall? ;o) ( Sorry, I don’t want to leave a whole other comment. LOL)

I second Maureen’s suggestions.
I would stay away from the cooking stuff (I was going to try something along those lines after I get a camcorder).

I’m with Kim. More fast-motion circular biking footage. Actually your thinking out loud about weight loss is quite entertaining in and of itself! I have no additional ideas… otherwise, I’d be doing them myself! My DC trip kind of made it hard for me to do one this week. I have a surprise next week.
And my condolences to you and your family for your loss. I wish you all my best.

Hey PG! Sorry again to hear about the loss in the family, and I’m sure that it is something that was hard for everyone. You were definitely in my thoughts.
I’d like to know in a future video: when you cheat, or ’stress eat’, what is it that you crave, and then, how do you avoid it? Like you, I’ve had some stressful situations this past week with the new baby coming so early, and it has lead to some stress eating too.
I’ll update my journey soon - thanks for the mention!

PG, We’ll see how the Memorial Day weekend punishes me. I took some liberties this week with some sweets, and fell off my walking schedule. Today I’m ready to get back to the walking and it starts pouring rain. Only myself to blame-but we’ll wait till Friday to see how bad the damage is. Have a great rest of the week!
