Or even a sports fan to feel good about Jon Lester.
Jon Who?
Jon Lester is a young pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.
Jon Lester is a cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 22 in September of 2006.
Jon Lester beat cancer and returned to the pitcher’s mound just 10 months later in July of 2007.
Jon Lester was the winning pitcher in the clinching game of the Sox 2007 World Series title.
And last night Jon Lester threw a no-hitter. Not allowing a single base hit to the Kansas City Royals.
Great video of the scene shot from behind home plate.
Well done Jon. You are an inspiration to everyone.

Totally Agree.
Not a Sox fan - but just became a Jon Lester fan.
Truly inspirational.
Plus, tipped his cap - class act.

Jon’s tear-filled (and tear-inducing) hug of Francona is now, officially, one of my favorite Red Sox moments of all time…

Horrahhhh for Jon Lester. What an awesome story. To go from the pinacle, to be challenged by adversity, to back to the pinacle of his profession is an awesome story! None better!
