Project 365 // Day 319
Abraham Lincoln’s ancestry on his father’s side has been traced to Samuel Lincoln, a weaver who emigrated from Hingham, England, to Hingham, Massachusetts, in 1637. Hingham is the next town over and the old Lincoln house still stands. Across the street sits this scuptlure of Abe and on the base is etched:
WITH MALICE TOWARD NONE
WITH CHARITY FOR ALL
A quote from his second inaugural address. during the tail end of the Civil War. Words that would be just as home come this January 20.
