Deutsche Bank Championship (217/365 v2.0)

Project 365 // Day 217 v2.0

217/365 v2.0 (by Pat Glennon)

My in-laws had tickets for my boys and I to go catch the third round of the Deutsche Bank Championship at the TPC Boston course in Norton, MA.

I am not a much of a golfer, but I was up for it as I had never been to a PGA event before and the boys are both better golfers than I will ever be.

I knew going in that the list of prohibited items included cameras and phones, so I knew I wouldn’t be shooting the event. I wouldn’t have been all that interested in shooting the actual golf but more the scene, the environs. Oh well, I understand the rationale behind the no camera rule and I wasn’t all that upset.

It really didn’t bother me not to have my phone either. That is until my younger boy and I got separated from my older boy (he was with his grandparents at least). It would have been nice to quickly ring them up so we could catch back up with each other.

My older boy got a new (to him – thanks for the donation Grandma) hat out of the day with some autographs including Padraig Harrington.

I stalked some Aussies (Geoff Olgilvy and Jason Day) who were paired together. Have I mentioned I have an ‘inexplicable affinity for things Australian)? We saw Tiger continue to prove he is indeed human and my boys can now say that they played at the Deutsche Bank Championship thanks to a mini golf set up at the “Kids Village”.

Weather was more than perfect and a good time was had by all.

If I make it back next year, perhaps tickets to a practice round of the pro-am would be better since I would be able to bring my camera.
