Breaking The Rules (38/365 year 3)

Project 365 // Day 38, year 3

38/365 year 3 (by Pat Glennon)

I hadn’t been playing along at The Daily Shoot recently but something made me check in on Thursday (other than lack of inspiration). What I was charged with was the topic of “Rules”

The Daily Shoot assignment for 2010/03/11:

“Rules” can be stifling if taken to extremes. Break the rules today with focus, composition, etc, and see what happens.

This is my submission.

I took it, and several others, by pointing the camera at the television while one of Regan’s cartoons was on. I didn’t know when I started that I’d get reflections of the room. Was pretty pleased with the results. Had a hard time deciding which one to use. Thanks to Jerome, Rob and Letha for input.

As Rob put it:

Something about (it) really hits me. Must be the color and the contrast between the “flowing” color and the “precise” rectangle of the window

I’ll buy that.

  1. My first thought was Poltergeist! And yes, I totally agree that this one is the best of the lot. Colorful, eerie, like you’ve opened your eyes after spinning yourself dizzy in an alien disco room. Cool! 🙂
