That’s Better (162/365 year 3)

Project 365 // Day 162, year 3

162/365 year 3

Here’s one where my procrastination paid off.

The weather forecast had rain late in the evening and it’s been so long since it actually rained more than 3 minutes around here so I thought I’d try to work it into the day’s photo.

When the skies opened just after midnight (my 365 ‘day’ is usually from the time I get up to the time I go to bed, so this is still Tuesday’s photo), I simply turned on the outside light, opened the sliding glass door and pointed the camera up and out and experimented with different shutter speeds.

This was my favorite. I like the tree line in shadow at the bottom.

  1. thanks, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but am fond of the results.

hand held (bracing myself against the sliding glass doorway)
    Exposure 0.6
    Aperture f/1.8
    Focal Length 50 mm
    ISO Speed 800

There is a big floodlight about 15 feet above that shins on to the patio below.

I am shooting out and up past the patio into the rain filled sky.

  2. (I’m afraid I got the math wrong)

    Hey 🙂

I love this picture, and I want to stand in that rain.

Btw, for some reason, your feed is super random. At least in my reader it is. Like, in my reader, this post is before the dead grass one. Not that it matters really, I still see everything.

(did that sound creepy stalkerish? I tried)
