Artist At Work

My mother-in-law asked me to come over to chronicle the process and some of the progress that my father-in-law has made on a stained glass piece he is working on.

I was glad to do it, but was not super hyped about it as I knew that the lighting was going to be a bit tough, mixed light sources (fluorescent, incandescent) and relatively tight quarters in the basement workspace.

I have to say, I am very glad she asked though as I think they came out great. I’ll shoot more as he continues to work on the piece.

More photos after the break….

While he’s not actually working on the piece in this shot I was really pleased with the way it came out.

Confession time… He wasn’t really soldering at the time. It was a posed shot. Shhhh, don’t tell.

This might be my favorite of the bunch. I had to covert to black and white as the lighting was pretty bad on this one. I kept the others in color as I wanted to capture the color of the piece he is working on.

My daughter was really entralled by the process. My boys were too, but they came by later after I had already put the camera away.

  1. I really like these shots. Chronicling the every day is one of your passions and with it you got to share your father-in-law’s passion, how fun.
